People have been heaping praise on Sam Thompson after he opened up about being neurodivergent.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 32, has been candid with fans throughout his career about how he has struggled with disorganisation, hyperactivity and inattention throughout his life.
He started searching for firm answers when he turned 30, as he was keen to become 'more self aware' and finally pinpoint the root cause of his symptoms.
This led Thompson to do some serious digging internally, and he let cameras follow him as he sought to get a diagnosis.
He let fans in on his journey to get answers while filming a documentary for Channel 4, which was titled Sam Thompson: Is This ADHD?
He explained he had always known there was 'something slightly different’ about him, hence why he wanted to get answers from doctors.
Viewers watched the I'm A Celeb winner find out he has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism - and he described getting this news as a 'weight [being] lifted off his shoulders'.
In an Instagram post shared in April last year, Thompson reflected on how both of these neurological conditions going undiagnosed had impacted him during his younger years.
"I don’t talk about my ADHD too much on here, to be honest not nearly enough," he wrote. "I work in an environment where my ADHD is celebrated as part of who I am, and I am incredibly lucky. However, I also know that this is not the case everywhere, especially in schools. I remember being younger and feeling different and not understanding why.
"When I was in school, I wished I had someone to tell me that I was ok, and someone to tell me that it wasn’t because I was stupid, I didn’t care, and that I was intentionally not paying attention.
"It was because I had undiagnosed ADHD. I really hope that I can be a small part of young people accepting themselves for who they are, neuro diverse or not."
Thompson is now on a mission to raise awareness of both ADHD and autism, seeing him regularly discuss his experiences on social media to spark conversation among his 2.7million followers.
In his most recent post, which he uploaded on Saturday (24 May), the reality star revealed that after he received his ADHD diagnosis, he still suspected there was 'more to the story'.
Thompson shared a comical clip which shows two of him walking down the street - one is labelled 'me' and the other 'ADHD'.
He captioned the clip: "You got diagnosed with ADHD in your late twenties but something still doesn’t add up..."
Then, a third version of Thompson comes around the corner, only this time, he's donning an inflatable dinosaur costume and he's labelled this one 'autism'.
Social media users flooded the comment section with praise for Thompson, as they hailed him for bravely discussing his neurological conditions online in such a light-hearted way.
One person said: "Love this! Thank you, as always, for raising awareness and being a great role model."
Another person wrote: "Welcome to the gang, life truly makes sense from this point onwards!"
